City of York Council is seeking a Service Manager, Learning Disabilities Team.
Due to the recruitment of the current post-holder to another post, an opportunity has been created for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and experienced professional to fill this role. If you have a good knowledge of adult social care, Learning Disabilities and working in a multi-disciplinary environment, this could be the job for you!
The post-holder is required to have experience of budget management, staff supervision and working with people with a Learning Disability and their families. They will have a good understanding of the current Health and Social Care context and a strong commitment to working within an aspirational and asset-based approach.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C2: Can express him/herself spontaneously at length with a natural conversational flow, avoiding or backtracking around any difficulty so smoothly that the person with whom they are conversing is hardly aware of it.
