The Corporate Director of Adult Social Care Services and Integration (DASS) invites applications for the post of Head of All Age Commissioning.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic Senior Officer team as the lead accountable officer with responsibility for delivering high quality and cost effective all age commissioning in order to promote, improve and protect the health and wellbeing of the people of York.
The post holder will provide strategic and operational leadership to drive forward integrated adult, children’s social care and health commissioning plans that reflect and support positive outcomes for people accessing services across York and the wider sub region.
The post holder will develop linkages and greater coordinated working with other services/Departments as well as other external stakeholders to ensure the service contributes to the development and delivery of local and regional priorities including the response to the Adult Social Care Reform agenda.
As well as working with colleagues and Elected Members in the Council, you will work closely with our partners and stakeholders to transform the way our services are delivered, working collaboratively to develop solutions and new ways of working.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
The duties of this post require the postholder to undertake a basic Criminal Record check (unspent convictions only) via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C2 - Can express him/herself spontaneously at length with a natural conversational flow, avoiding or backtracking around any difficulty so smoothly that the person with whom they are conversing is hardly aware of it.
Relocation expenses, in accordance with the City of York Council’s Relocation Policy, may be available for the successful candidate subject to meeting the relevant criteria
