City of York Council is seeking to recruit a full time Placement Social Worker to join our Fostering Team (Placement Finding, Commissioning and Support Team)
The Fostering team identifies suitable placements for children and young people and provides individually tailored and creative packages of support to these foster carers and placements.

We require the successful candidates to undertake an enhanced Criminal Record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
The post holders will have access to secure government sites or email. In order to use these systems, the Cabinet Office requires the HR Team to carry out Baseline Personnel Standard Security (BPSS) checks.
The post requires qualified Social Workers who is currently registered with the HCPC.
As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.
