City of York Council have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Social Care Manager role within the Intensive Support Service, Adult Social Care.
The Intensive Support Service is a committed, friendly and forward-thinking team, working alongside a reablement service as part of the One team to provide a short term intensive assessment and reablement service.
In the role of Social Care Manager you will be working as part of the team supporting a wide variety of customers. Your work will involve assessing adults with care and support needs in the community, personalised support planning with customers to meet their identified outcomes and thinking creatively and flexibly about how their needs can be met within their personal budget. As part of the One team you will work closely with a wide variety of health professionals and partner agencies both within the statutory and voluntary sector.
You will be expected to work within a duty system and be able to manage the balance between your case load and the duty function.
The successful candidate will have considerable relevant experience of working with adults and have the ability to work in emergency situations if required.
This post requires you to have I.T skills, be highly organised and have the ability to work in a busy, pressurised environment putting customers and their carers at the centre of your work.
The successful candidate will hold a relevant professional qualification in Social Work, have relevant experience and show enthusiasm about working with Adults. This post is open to ASYE candidates.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C2: Can express him/herself spontaneously at length with a natural conversational flow, avoiding or backtracking around any difficulty so smoothly that the person with whom they are conversing is hardly aware of it.
