We have a rare opportunity for a Legal Officer to join our busy and supportive Court Team.
The team carry out work with significant impact for some of the city’s most vulnerable resident and this role presents the successful candidate with a genuine opportunity to make a difference.
You will predominantly support the work of the social care mini team who provide legal representation, advice and assistance to the children’s and adult’s social care departments within the council.
The main focus will be children’s law matters; in particular care proceedings, adoption proceedings and pre-proceedings work. However, there will also be opportunities to develop your skills with work across the court team and in particular with our adult social care lawyers.
If you have a law degree, a CILEX qualification, are a solicitor or barrister or are working towards of these qualifications, and you have experience or demonstrable commitment to legal work in one of the above areas, we would be delighted to hear from you.
This role is suitable as a job share opportunity.
Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
