The Building Control team within City of York Council are looking to appoint a suitably qualified/experienced Building Control and Property Information Manager

You should hold, a recognized qualification in Building Control or have worked extensively in Building Control and have experience of managing a Building Control team.
The successful applicant would be expected to lead on the major Building Control projects and Initiatives and have input into the setting of performance targets for the section and for the allocation of staff resources. The post hold will also be required to positively influence the retention and enhancement of market share within the competitive markets that both Building Control and Local Land Charges operate.
The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the Safety at Sports Advisory Group.
Knowledge of Local Land Charges and Local Land and Property Gazetteer is desirable as part of this post is to manage the Local Land Charges and Property information Team.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C2: Can express him/herself spontaneously at length with a natural conversational flow, avoiding or backtracking around any difficulty so smoothly that the person with whom they are conversing is hardly aware of it.
